Tuesday Nights is a series of Art Workshops for local creative types. Each series is built around one project idea. Some of the projects will end in exhibitions, but mostly this is a way to advance your creative skills while socializing with others of your artistic ilk. We don't care how long you have been at it. Some of us have been plowing the creative fields for awhile others are just starting, all that matters is your willingness to jump in and take chances..after all it's only art.
THE GAME ROOM
Tuesday Nights is the name of our class and The Game Room is where we meet when we are not together.
Got a idea that just can't wait...tell us about it.
You need to hash something out, maybe we can help.
Or maybe you just want to see what everybody else is up to.
Post links, post pictures, post questions or just ask one.
My Philosophy.
I teach through action and immersion. Just keep moving, contemplate later. In art, for me at least, there are times of rest and contemplation, and times of work. Art making is a time for work. It is the time to pull from the mental and make physical. Create a reality, a piece of art. For this the contemplative brain needs to move over, the art critic side isn’t even invited to the party. Learn to ask and answer your own questions on the move. The sooner I can get you making art the better. Get something done and then we have something to talk about.

The Artists Group Tuesday Nights is inviting Ramona’s Art lovers to an Art
Exhibition of works based on Chance, Synchronicity, Fortune Cookies and just
plan Fun!
“Tuesday Nights”
is an Art Workshop for local creative types, facilitated by Artist Helen
Wilson. Each Workshop is built around a project idea. The projects end in an
exhibition. Mostly this is a way to advance creative skills while socializing
with others of their artistic ilk.
At every meeting this
spring a new project was introduced working with an aspect of Chance. We built
Art inspired by: Fortune Cookies, The I Ching, An Artist Wheel of Fortune
(created by member Marsha Cook), Rolling Dice to randomly select pages of a
favorite book and work started by other members. But what really happened is
that we went away and watched the Synchronicity of these inspirations appear in
our own art. Each Artist was given Two 10” x 10” and Fourteen 4” x 4” blank
canvases to fill.
The Artists were
free to interpret the projects however muses directed, and were free to extend
themselves. There was one rule “keep a sense of play.” The
group can be seen on the blog http://tuesdaynights-thegameroom.blogspot.com
The exhibitions
artists are Tracy Potter, Lark Burkhart, Deborah Behnke, Helen Petre, Heidi
Schlotfeldt, Karen James, Susie Amundson, Ralph Jensen, Cindy Dodson, Antonia
Cosentino, Pamela Underwood, Kathe Rothe, Regina Wilson, Diane Conklin, Ann
Marie Heaton, Marsha Cook, Candace Wright, Julie Z Weaver, John Gardener,
Kathleen Beck and Felicia Hill.
Within this group
are Book Artists, Quilters, Collage Artists, Glass Artists, Mosaic Artists,
Painters, Mixed Media Artists, Sculptors, Educators, Expressive Art Therapists,
Activists, Environmentalists and Jewelry Makers.
Come out to the
opening on Tuesday Night May 27th from 6 to 9 pm and see what the
Gods of Chance have in store for you. You can buy a scratch off ticket to win a
4” x 4” masterpiece. Proceeds go to buy chairs for the studio (we’re getting
tired of carrying our own). We are located at 1140 Main Street, Suite 208,
Ramona, CA 92605, upstairs, above McWhorter Jewelers and the Tuna Shack. Lezley
Knott at Eleven Forty and her desire to support the Arts in Ramona makes the
location possible.
The exhibition
will run through the end of June. Gallery Hours are Noon until Six From Wed May
28th through Sunday June 1st and then by Appointment
through the rest of June. Helen Wilson can be reached at studio@helenwilsonartist.com
